Local Lifestyle

Aspen Core has something to offer everyone from elegant or casual bars to gourmet and farm-to-table restaurants to high-fashion shopping. Its prime access to the mountains makes it a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts, with a sense of peace yet excitement on everyone's face. There are loads of activities to do at any time of year for all ages, and it has an upscale yet down-to-earth vibe. As one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the country, Aspen Core is a magnificent place to visit or call home.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The famous “Restaurant Row” runs through the neighborhood's west side and is loaded with eateries and bars to choose from. Cache Cache is a hotspot amongst residents, widely adored for its focus on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and its expansive wine list. I also love Matsuhisa, the Wild Fig, Casa de Angelo, and The Red Onion makes for a historic spot to enjoy a meal, having been established in 1892. For those looking to enjoy a night on the town, there is the private Members only Caribou Club with a great Chef and menu as well as a “living room” and apres dining disco. The modern industrial decor at Eric’s Bar provides a perfect setting to relax over a cocktail or single malt scotch.

On top of its dining and nightlife, there’s also a fabulous shopping scene throughout the town, which is accessible either by foot or by car. Many world-class designers have stores in the neighborhood, such as Chanel, Prada, and Gucci, I particularly like Nuages, MAX, and   Performance Ski Shop which is more than just a ski shop. There are also several charming boutiques, like Cos Bar for cosmetics and Kemo Sabe for western-style gear. For groceries, most people attend City Market or one of the conveniently located specialty stores like the gourmet Meat & Cheese Restaurant & Farm Shop.

Things to Do

For more to do, Residents and visitors visit the Aspen Art Museum, which hosts exhibitions showcasing contemporary works by local and global artists. For live entertainment, Wheeler Opera House puts on magnificent performances throughout the year and is a premier establishment for concerts, festivals, films, lectures, and community events. An absolute must-do is taking a ride to the top of Aspen Mountain on the Silver Queen Gondola. The mountain stands tall at 11,212 feet, with miles of hiking and biking trails in the summertime and skiing in the wintertime. It also boasts Sundeck Restaurant for dining and Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, which offers guided tours and community programs all year round.
